Eric Mason

Peering into a volcano, following smokejumpers into battle, uncovering the dark side of the drug war, journalist, writer, and producer Eric Mason has done it all.  Not only has he survived to tell about it, his words and pictures are now a part of history.  His series and documentaries have been seen on The Learning Channel, CBS This Morning and The Animal Planet.
 
As a one-time wildland firefighter, he researched wrote and produced a one-hour program for the Discovery Networks, FIRESTORM--Fire and The Dying Forest which aired five times nationally.  His list of awards includes two Emmy's four Edward R Murrow awards and numerous nods from the Associated Press for feature writing and investigation. 
 
Through the years he's researched and wrote more than a dozen specials including a one-hour documentary about the vanishing Old Growth forests of the Northwest.  Wildforest Wars was nominated 1990 by the National Academy of Arts and Sciences Seattle Chapter, and won best documentary in that year by the Associated Press. 
 
His work producing a series of reports on the treatment of research animals at the Oregon Regional Primate Center won him the 2002 Genesis Award, which aired on the Animal Planet.  He received his award on television from Michelle Phillips.
 
Eric loves Oregon and continues to write and produce high quality content for film, television, and corporate clients.
